We celebrate 40 years of LAP!
As LAP celebrates its 40th anniversary, we take a moment to look back on our journey marked by innovation, expansion, and commitment to our customers. Since our establishment in Lüneburg, Germany, in 1984, LAP has transformed from a distributor of laser components to a world leader in laser and measurement technology solutions, catering to specialized markets across diverse industries.
Foundation and growth:
In our early years we mainly focused on selling line lasers and laser components. However, in the 1990s, we underwent a significant change in strategy by adopting vertical integration. Consequently, we began developing and manufacturing laser systems, like the DORADO and the CAD-PRO, that were tailored for specific end-markets such as radiotherapy, industrial, and steel.
International expansion:
At the end of the 1990s and beginning of the 2000s, LAP established companies in Florida, Kentucky, Shanghai, and Singapore to pursue global expansion and to be close to our customers. Our commitment to quality and excellence on a global scale is supported by DIN ISO 9001, 13485:2000 and 14001 certifications.
Portfolio diversification:
At the beginning of the 2010s, we started diversifying by acquiring companies such as A2J Technology, Lifeline Software, and Euromechanics Medical, introducing non-laser products to our portfolio. As a result, we were able to expand our market presence and cater to a wider range of customer needs.
Digitalization:
LAP has committed to digitalization and innovation in response to the digital age, continuously enhancing its product portfolio. We have integrated intelligent software solutions, such as RadCalc, into our offerings to ensure a seamless incorporation of our solutions into our customers' ecosystems and workflows.
The journey continues:
We're proud to release several new products in 2024. These new offerings include the LUNA 3D SGRT system, the 4D EAGLE S, and the new CAD-PRO Xpert laser projector. We're committed to providing innovative solutions that push the boundaries of what's possible.
